Jamestown is settled in Virginia.

May 14, 1607

Originally called Villa James, it is settled by an expedition of 105 men that left England in three ships, the Godspeed, Susan Constant, and Discovery in December 1606. By 1610, all but 60 of its first 500 settlers are dead.
